2023 Scholarship Recipient

Kaylee Kemp is the 2023 Scholarship Recipient. Kaylee attends Cavalier Public High School, Cavalier, North Dakota. She will be attending University of Mary in the fall to obtain a degree in Nursing.
2022 Scholarship Recipient

Megan Larson is the 2022 Kelsey's Courage Scholarship winner. Megan attends Northwood Public School, Northwood, North Dakota. She will be attending NDSU in the fall to obtain a Doctorate of Pharmacy.
"Wipe the Tears Away"

Thank you to everyone for participating in our "Wipe the Tears Away" Kleenex drive. We were able to get 323 box's of facial tissues that will be donated to Sanford Children's Hospital tomorrow December 17th!
A big Thank You to the Dakota College at Bottineau Nursing-Valley City, Valley City State University, McLean Frames, Huffman family, the many elementary classes of Jamestown and Valley City public schools for helping provide for so many families this Holiday season.

The drop off locations for the “Wipe Away the Tears” campaign are Kendra and Dylan Huffman- Valley City, Student Center- Valley City State University, Business Hallway 2nd floor McFarland-Valley City State University, and McLean frames- Valley City. This campaign will run from November 29th through December 16th.

We would like to announce that we are putting on a “Wipe Away the Tears” Campaign. We are partnering up with Dakota College at Bottineau - Valley City, ND Nursing program to donate soft facial tissues to Sanford Children’s Hospital in Fargo, ND. We are running this campaign from November 29th- December 16th. The drop off locations will be announced soon. 2022 High School Seniors please do not forget about your community service hours for this scholorship! You need at least 50 hours of community service hours to qualify.
2021 Scholarship Recipient

Leeds High School senior, John W. Fischer, son of Kelly and Cheryl Fischer of Leeds, North Dakota, has been selected as the 2021 Kelsey's Courage Scholarship recipient. The Kelsey's Courage Scholarship was initiated by the Misialek family of Adams, North Dakota in memory of Kelsey Misialek who passed away from injuries sustained in an ATV accident in June of 2012. Kelsey was an energetic and determined 15-year-old who had a strong desire to become an orthopedic surgeon. Due to Kelsey's interest in medicine the Misialek family decided to award an annual $500 scholarship to a North Dakota high school senior pursuing a degree in a medical field.
Fischer was selected because of his exceptional dedication to volunteerism with his community, outstanding academic achievements, work ethic, and his drive to positively influence the lives of others.
John plans to attend North Dakota State University in the fall to achieve his career goal of becoming a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.
2020 Scholarship Recipient

Valley-Edinburg High School senior, Kaylee Pastorek, daughter of Darrel and Kari Pastorek of Hoople, North Dakota, has been selected as the 2020 Kelsey’s Courage Scholarship recipient.
The Kelsey’s Courage Scholarship was initiated by the Misialek family of Adams, North Dakota in memory of Kelsey Misialek who passed away from injuries sustained in an ATV accident in June of 2012. Kelsey was an energetic and determined 15-year-old who had a strong desire to become an orthopedic surgeon. Due to Kelsey’s interest in medicine the Misialek family decided to award an annual scholarship of $500 to a North Dakota high school senior pursuing a degree in the medical field.
Pastorek was selected because of her exceptional dedication to volunteerism with her community, academic achievements, work ethic, and her drive to positively influence the lives of others. The scholarship committee believes that Pastorek best represents what Kelsey believed in.
Kaylee plans to attend the University of North Dakota in the fall to achieve her career goal of becoming an Occupational Therapist.
2019 Scholarship Recipient

North Star Public School senior, Mya Halverson, daughter of Rod and Jamie Halverson of Cando, North Dakota, has been selected as the 2019 Kelsey’s Courage Scholarship recipient. The Kelsey’s Courage Scholarship was initiated by the Misialek family of Adams, North Dakota in memory of Kelsey Misialek who passed away from injuries sustained in an ATV accident in June of 2012. Halverson was selected because of her exceptional dedication to volunteerism with her community, academic achievements, work ethic, and her drive to positively influence the lives of others. The Scholarship committee believes that Halverson best represents what Kelsey believed in.
Mya Halverson will graduate from North Stare Public School this spring. Mya plans to attend Lake Region State College in Devils Lake, North Dakota in the fall to achieve her career goal of becoming a nurse.
2018 Scholarship Recipient

Cavalier Senior, Austin Urlaub, son of Jeff and Michele Urlaub of Cavalier, has been selected as the 2018 Kelsey’s Courage Scholarship Recipient. Urlaub will graduate from Cavalier High School this spring and plans to attend Mayville State University in the fall to achieve his career goal of becoming a physical therapist.
